tasmād asaktaḥ satataṁ kāryaṁ karma samāchara

'Therefore, perform your duties without
attachment, with dedication and commitment.'"
This quote is a guiding principle for me as I step into the role of Chairperson. It emphasizes that leadership is about action, discipline, and focus.
I am honored and humbled to be appointed as the Chairperson of the ICAI Singapore Chapter. Our Chapter has witnessed tremendous growth over the past 16 years, becoming a Category 1 Chapter and earning a podium finish in our first year within ICAI International Chapters. This is a testament to the vision and dedication of our 13 Past Chairpersons and their teams, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to them for laying such a solid foundation.
Looking ahead, we are committed to further elevating the Chapter, reaching new heights in every way possible. A key milestone this year is the first-ever elections for two positions in our Managing Committee, a sign of the faith and trust our volunteers have in the future of the Chapter. Their dedication deserves our deepest gratitude.
We are excited to embrace the ICAI theme for 2025-26: "Vishwasniya" (Trustworthy) . This theme reflects our core values—trust in each other, in our work, and in our collective future.
Our mission for the year is to advance the ICAI 2.0 vision, focusing on innovation, unity, and growth. While we celebrate past successes, we are committed to refining areas for improvement and introducing new initiatives to achieve our shared goals.
Three guiding principles will drive our initiatives this year: ENGAGE - संलग्न, EMPOWER- सशक्त, and ENABLE - सक्षम.
We will focus on enhancing our presence locally and professionally, ensuring that the wisdom, networks, and experience of our members are heard and respected. We aim to build new partnerships with educational institutions and local establishments to expand our impact
The heart of our Chapter is understanding and addressing the needs of our members. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. This year, we will launch a Women Connect subcommittee to empower women members and create a more supportive platform. Mental health remains a priority, and we will continue to focus on this important social pillar.
We will provide our members with access to global resources, tapping into ICAI’s vast network and collaborations. This year, we will focus on the Business Leaders Forum, collaborating with ICAI, local business leaders, and International Chapters to enhance knowledge sharing and foster global connections.
I am fortunate to be supported by a dedicated team of office bearers:
CA. Sanjay Gattani, Vice Chairperson
CA. Kushal Jaju, Secretary
CA. Nikhil Jain, Treasurer
Our Committee members, including CA. Nishant Kumar Surana (Immediate Past Chairperson), CA. Anurag Gupta, CA. Ayush Yagnik, CA. Darshak Raimangia, and newly elected members CA. Anshu Jain and CA. Vikash Surana, bring invaluable expertise and passion to our mission.
I am also grateful for the ongoing support and inspiration from ICAI leadership, including CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda (President), CA. Prasanna Kumar D (Vice President), CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal (Immediate Past President) and all the Central Council Members.
As we move forward, I embrace the opportunity this role presents with a deep sense of purpose and commitment. With the support of my team and colleagues, I am confident that we will drive meaningful progress and create a lasting impact. Together with Team 2025-26, I am excited to lead with passion, determination, and a shared vision for success.
ICAI Singapore is not just a team, but a collective force. I am deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me, and I look forward to working with each of you to create a brighter, bolder and more prosperous future.
In closing, I echo the words of Sheryl Sandberg:
"If you're offered a seat on a rocket ship, don't ask what seat! Just get on."
Let’s seize the opportunities ahead and unite not only in vision but in action.
Together, we can. Together, we will.
