Ramakrishnan S (Ramky) is Chartered Accountant and an experienced Commercial banker having worked in leading roles in India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam & Philippines. He was born in Mumbai and grew up in Kolkata, Kerala, Agra, Bangalore, Chennai. He has lived and worked in different cities and countries – Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai in India, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and professionally covered the all the Asian markets. After his CA in 1991, he joined Citibank India with Citi India Mortgages business and worked at Chennai & Bangalore. In 1998, as a young leader, he joined HDFC bank management team, when the bank commenced Retail Banking. He was the pan India Credit & Risk Head for the Bank (Retail assets). He then went to become the first Group Head of Retail Assets covering entire spectrum of Retail Loans – Personal, Autoloans, Commercial vehicles, SME, Gold, Loan against securities.

Post his initial career of 15 years in India, he moved to Singapore in 2005 with Citibank as the Regional director for Unsecured lending, Asia Pacific. In the past 15 years since 2005, he has done several leadership roles such as MD & CEO – Asia Retail Banking for ING, based at Singapore,Chief of Retail & SME at TMB Bank (ING) based at Bangkok, Thailand. ING subsequently exited certain operations in Asia. In 2010, he was appointed as Retail banking product & business head for Standard Chartered bank for China, Hong Kong & Taiwan based at Hong Kong. He followed that up with a 5 year stint asCountry Head – Consumer Bank for Thailand, Vietnam & Philippines, for Standard Charteredbank based at Bangkok, before it was sold to a local bank. In 2016, he moved back to Mumbai and served as the CEO & MD – Shriram Capital leading the transformation for Shriram group of NBFCs. During his career, he served as one of the youngest Boardmembers with ING Vysya Bank in 2008 & more recently was a board member of Shriram Capital, Shriram Transport finance, Shriram Life and General insurance. He was member of several Management committees – North Asia Exco (Consumer Bank at SCB), Global Management council at ING, Exco at SCB Thai, senior Management team and ALCO member at HDFC bank.

Post his 25+ years as a Corporate leader, he launched is Advisory & Consulting practice in Asia. He is currently the CEO for Fincrest Management advisors, Singapore and is a Senior advisor and consultant to PE, FIs and Fintech. He has served leading Private equity and financial institutions in the region such as Premji Invest, Sequoia, Brookfield, Fullerton financial, ICICI ventures, Alvarez &Marsal, Spark Capital, Perfios & other Fintechs in India & Asian. He lives in Singapore and enjoys playing Badminton, TT, Cricket apart from Music, Movies, Travel and spending time with friends and family& is involved in pro-bono coaching and volunteering.
