Future of India - the winning leap

The Singapore Chapter of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) held a special event on 6 December 2022 on "Future of India - The Winning Leap" presented by Saurabh Mukherjea, FRSA, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Marcellus Investment Managers. Saurabh is a highly respected investment guru, speaker and author who visited Singapore exclusively for this ICAI Singapore Chapter event.

With a full house attendance, the event started with ICAI Singapore Chapter Chairman, Ramky Subramanian sharing outstanding feedback about the World Congress of Accountants hosted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in Mumbai from 18 to 21 November 2022. A strong 20 member delegation from Singapore attended the WCOA conference. He also appreciated the members for attending the grand Diwali gala dinner on 5 November 2022. He thanked the members for actively participating in events during the year and shared that Membership Renewal for 2023 has already started.

Following this, Saurabh Mukherjea shared his expert views and experience on Future of India. He mesmerized the audience with the facts and figures of Indian economy and shared main reasons for interests in India by institutional investors across the globe. The benefits of reforms, infrastructure growth, digital economy are all coming together well for India. Saurabh highlighted the rapid growth of digital payments in India via UPI coupled with many other initiatives like Jandhan, Aadhar, Mobile (JAM), GST & many other structural reforms that are accelerating the India growth story. He spoke at length about the interplay of many variables and how India is amongst the few large economies that are well positioned for a multi decade growth journey.

In a highly interactive session, the members were deeply engaged by the practical examples shared by the speaker. Saurabh's ability to synthesize & articulate the topics and his unique manner of storytelling, was a symphony of facts, figures, thoughts and ideas. The session concluded with a networking dinner. We thank Saurabh and his entire team for taking out time and taking us through on this extremely engaging and knowledgeable session.
