It is indeed a matter of pride for me to become the Chairman of the Singapore Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Thank you for your trust and confidence.
As you would all be aware, the ICAI is a premier Institute in India and our aim in Singapore is to give our members living in Singapore an opportunity to keep abreast with some of changing regulations across the globe. With this main objective in mind, we held some marquee events last year and we will continue to focus on holding such events for our members going forward.
Our main focus will be also be to grow the membership of the ICAI in Singapore. As we grow our membership, the Singapore Chapter will also grow in stature and this will enable us to bring more and better events to Singapore. This will also help each one of you being members of the ICAI Chapter in Singapore from a personal and a professional perspective.
We are setting out an ambitious target of trying to double the membership over the next 12 months and we request each one of our members to support us in this cause by introducing new members.
We are also attempting to work together with CPA Australia and other similar bodies to see how we could collaborate and work together on bringing more meaningful events for our members in Singapore.
I would also encourage all our members to visit us on Facebook or LinkedIn. We will continue to post regular updates about upcoming events or functions on these pages.
As I take over the Chairmanship, I would also like to thank Prashant Agarwal, the earlier Chairman for an outstanding job. Lastly, I would like your continued support towards the Chapter as we grow in stature.
We would love to hear your ideas and suggestions and if you do have any, please feel free to write into us
Chairman, ICAI Singapore Chapter
